Sound DNA is a music & cultural center for learning, playing and listening to music. The space is divided into three sections of focus going deeper into musical education, experimentation, and active listening. Throughout the space there are musical innovations from different eras that became objects that introduced us to sound. Sound DNA has these objects in space not only for nostalgic reference but also as artifacts of sound.
Sound DNA serves as a hybrid space between digital and in-person experiences. My intention behind this concept is to use digital communication as a tool to amplify and enhance physical spaces and real-world interactions.
Sound DNA: Who’s Gonna Save the World Playlist Activation, 2024 (Case Study #1)
The Sound DNA Playlist Activation was an online jam session on Spotify based on my Who’s Gonna Save the World playlist I made that channeled the frustration and grievances of the world issues and wanting to transform those feelings into optimism. Based on the playlist I created, I developed the Sound DNA Playlist Activation, where guests can join from any place or time zone and add songs that relate to feelings of resistance and the transformation into empowerment. Each guest added songs which then turned into Sound DNA: Collective Playlist.
