Albums as Spaces was a collaboration that reimagined an album as a physical environment. The album I chose was one from my childhood music I grew up listening to as a Dominican kid born in the Bronx, New York. When I think of this album, I think of New York summers with my family and the place where we gathered most: the sala, the living room. The interior was shaped by those homes.
Suzie, creator of Album as Spaces created a mood board that captured the sense of romance found in Latin music, expressed through color palettes, materials, and lighting. As a result, the project became a space rooted in nostalgic references and emotional memories drawn from sound and translated into architectural form.
