Desktop at HeadQuarters, 2023

Personal Headquarters,  2023- Present
Personal Headquarters was my own studio imagined. I made a two story studio loft where I could imagine myself working on my renders or relaxing on my sofa reading a book or listening to music.

On my desk that you see is a replica of my desk irl, at the time that I made this I was reading the Artist Way by Julia Cameron and I was reading the Creative Act by Rick Rubin. Both of these books were about the spiritual connection to creativity. Another book I was reading that year was Assata Shakur’s autobiography, a book that changed my life.

The second floor is my personal library with books I’ve read and look forward to reading.

Desktop at Headquarters became an ongoing series in which I recorded live screen captures of whatever I was working on at the time. The series offered a glimpse into my process before the projects were shared online.

This has been one of my most personal projects because it’s a render within a render one that mirrors my own life. My work unfolds over long periods of time, and I sometimes feel I’m not sharing as much as I could. So this became a way to weave my work  into each other while offering a sneak peak of what I was working on.

The works featured on the screen above are 690 Woodward Records, Maison Kitsune x Cafe Kitsune, & Bathhouse x Aesop. Below screen features Depop x Brooklyn Museum.
